Pink Panther x Bearbrick Collaboration

One of the funniest film series of all time started with the movie Pink Panther. Now there are two Bearbricks to celebrate this amazing character and the fandom that has been growing since 1963. This Bearbrick collaboration comes in two different styles.

The first, known as Pink, is the familiar bubble-gum pink of the cartoon character. The panther’s eyelids are halfway closed, and his eyebrows are raised, giving him a sly, sleepy look.

On the back of the Bearbrick, the panther’s tail is raised in a question mark. This is a perfect touch, as it honors the constant state of confusion Inspector Clouseau is always in.

The second release is a Chrome version of the panther, which gives him a lighter, almost lavender hue. In Chrome, he shines like the “pink panther” diamond of the original movie.

Another difference in this version are the panther’s eyes. Still with raised eyebrows, his expression is more energetic, with wide open eyes.

Both are straightforward representations of a much beloved character, but they also manage to capture the heart of what made us love the Pink Panther long ago.

About The Pink Panther

French detective Inspector Jacque Clouseau is the main character of the film series that began in 1963 with Pink Panther. The insanely talented Peter Sellers brought his A game when he starred as this lovable – but moronic – inspector. At the start of most of the film series, a brief cartoon played, featuring the pink panther character we now all know and love.

Since then, the panther has gone on to star in his own Saturday morning cartoons, with the popular The Pink Panther Show. From there, he continued his rise to stardom, with video games, spinoff shows, and advertising deals.

He’s most closely associated with “The Pink Panther Theme,” a musical score composed by Henry Mancini. The mysterious and cunning tones of the tenor sax melody are known around the world.

Pink Panther Bearbrick (2021)

This is about as true a representation of the Pink Panther cartoon as you’ll ever see on a plastic teddy bear. The vibrant pink of the panther’s body and the half-closed eyes of his sly expression are unmistakable.

We particularly love his whiskers, which remind us of Peter Sellers’s epic moustache as Inspector Clouseau.

This newer release resembles the Pink version in most ways, with two major differences: The eyes are wide open in an energetic, friendly expression, and the body is a shiny Chrome that looks more lavender than pink.

Other details remain the same, making this a special contribution to the Pink Panther Bearbrick collaboration.
